Our new niece

Ronnie's sister Jennifer had a little baby girl Saturday. After having some complications with preeclampsia, Jennifer had her 3rd girl Saturday morning. She weighs 3 pounds 5 ounces. Her name is still pending.......We can't wait to know her name. She is in the NICU and is currently needing assistance breathing. She was only 32 weeks when she was born, so she is doing very well for being such an early baby. She is so precious and we are proud to announce her birth. Jenn is hanging in there too. Congratulations!!!
More updates to come....................

Thanksgiving

We have a lot to be grateful for this holiday. We were able to spend Thanksgiving with our families. We ate entirely too much....thanks to the mom's! We traveled to Fayetteville to my brother Josh's house. Josh was a very gracious host. We had a blast looking through his massive telescope. Ronnie and I had to squeeze in some study time here and there, but we managaed to take a break too. We headed back to Hot Springs the next day and spent some time with the Daniels. We, again, ate tooooo much. We enjoyed playing games and resting. We wanted to thank everyone for such a great Thanksgiving. We are looking forward to Christmas break.

Tagged

I'm still kind of new to the blogging scene, but I'm trying to figure it all out. My cousin Amy has a blog (The Griffin Family blog) that I follow regularly and she has *tagged* me to go to my fourth picture folder, then the fourth picture in the folder and say 4 things about the picture. I found it rather ironic that my fourth picture folder was all of Amy and I on a trip to Anna Maria Island in Florida. This was a trip Amy, my mom, and I took last March. We had the best time....just us girls. It was a much needed trip and one I'll never forget.

Four things about the picture:
1. Our condo was beach front and you could walk out the back door and be right on the beach
2. Amy had massive "stomach issues" the day we arrived :)
3. We didn't plan the matching polka dotted shirts
4. Loved jogging with Amy on the beach

Sooooo much fun!

All of you already know what a incredible dad Ronnie is to his girls. Here is a small peek (very small) at how great he is.

Memaw

I am sad to announce that we lost my grandmother this year on October 7th just 3 months after losing my grandfather. My memaw was a wonderful woman. She was the best cook in the world and was known for her famous homemade rolls. Our family has been through a lot this summer with losing both of these amazing people that were so important in our lives. We are all saddened to not have them here with us but are comforted knowing that they are together in heaven. They both lived long, prosperous lives and will never be forgotten.

We are doing well , studying hard and all the time! We broke away for a fun day in the park with the girls. We decorated pumpkins instead of carving them. We all had a great time.

Emma

For those of you who do not know, I have a child by the name of Emma. She has big brown eyes, soft velvety floppy ears, and horrible breath. She had to stay in Arkansas while we came to school and it's killing me to not have her with me. She'll be 8 in October. The last night we were in Arkansas, she could sense something was about to change. She crawled up in my lap and just had me hold her. She doesn't usually volunteer that. I miss her more than words can say. Here are a few pictures so that everyone can see why I miss her so much.

School is in full swing

This month has already gone by so fast. We are all very busy with school work and trying to keep our head above water. Ronnie's parents brought the girls down to visit last weekend and we all had a blast. We all stayed in our tiny little room which left no open floor space, it was cozy. We all made due and had a great time . We went to a huge wax museum, mirror maze, and Ripley's Believe It or Not. After, we went to a fun place to eat...Magic Time Machine. All the waiters are dressed as some character and really make your time there fun and unexpected. The girls absolutley loved it and can't wait to go back.

Back to School

The whole Daniel Clan is going back to school. Megan started 6th grade and Katlin is now in the 4th grade. The girls were very excited about going back this year. They were anxoius to find out which teacher they got and also to see all their long lost friends. We are happy to report that the girls like their teachers and are , so far, enjoying school. The only unfortunate event is that Megan fell skating and has broken her wrist. She has a bright pink cast. She has not let this ruin her first week of school. You better hurry if you want to sign it, cuz space is limited.

Ronnie and I also experienced our "first" day of school in quite some time. We have successfully moved to Fort Worth for the semester to start graduate school in Nurse Anesthesia. We have prepared extensively for this and are both very nervous/excited about it. Our class and study schedule are proving already to be challenging. We are able to help one another and at the very least are able to sympathize with each other. The Texas Wesleyan campus is very pretty and historic feeling. The surrounding neighborhood is less than to be desired. On our first run around the campus, all we heard were passing cars and whistles . (I told Ronnie to wear longer running shorts). Our living conditions are, lets just say, different. The word of the week has been CRAM. Not only will we be cramming for school, but we are literally crammed into a tiny apartment. It should be very interesting to see how this all turns out. We are very lucky in that our tiny little apartment is right across the street from the anesthesia building where we spend all our time. It is a bitter-sweet feeling. We love being here to further our careers but we miss our family terribly. This semester will pass fast, we hope, and we will look back on this experience as a great opportunity. We want to thank all of our family and friends for all the support and advice that you have offered us. We would never be here if it hadn't been for them. We love you.

The last two years....

Most of you know by now...Lindsay and I are going back to school this fall. The last two years have been incredible. We have been very busy getting prepared to finish our education. But we have had the most amazing time as well. It would take too long to list all the things we have done and all the fun we have had. I made a video from the last two years worth of memories. It's set to a song that is very fitting. Megan, Katlin, and I are very lucky to have Lindsay in our family and we love her very much. I think this video sums up the last 24 or so months...but it doesn't come close to showing all that I would have liked for you to see. The file is large and may take a few minutes to load...Ronnie

Bebop

My dear grandfather ( better known as Bebop) passed away this year. He was by far the sweetest most loved man I ever knew. He is missed very deeply by us all. He had a wonderful life and influenced countless people. My mom was the best daughter to him he could have ever wished for. He is healthy and happy waiting in heaven. Love you Mom.

My Nanny's Birthday

My Nanny turned 80 this year and we had a big party to celebrate. There was lots of cake eating, horse back riding, and most of all laughing! We had so much fun. Dad was a very gracious host and let the girls ride the pony and horse. I love my Nanny and hope we celebrate many more birthdays with her.

Fun in the sun

We've had a great time this summer with our friends Dan and Skylar. We went to Magic Springs with them and also got to spend time at Dan's pool. We love you Dan and know that you and Skylar have had a hard year. We miss Kari terribly. Here are some good memories.

Kentucky Trip

July 13, we packed up and drove to Kentucky to be with my parents for a few days. We had the most relaxing time. We fished and played at the pond with Mindy. Mom was even putting live worms on hooks so Katie could fish!!!! Eeww!! We drove to Paducah one day and walked along the wall of paintings. We also got to spend some time with Memaw. Kim grilled out several nights and we loved sitting out on the patio just relaxing. We had an awesome time. We've put together a slide show so that everyone can see just what a great time was had.

Canoe Trip

We drove to Ponca, Ar. on July 2nd and floated the Buffalo River. The float was a long 5 hour "float" down the river. We encoutered a few rapids and survived to tell the story. Katie caught some turtles and Megan caught some sun rays.

Helicopter Ride

Ronnie and the girls got to take a ride on the Medflight helicopter on June 17. This was the girls first flight! They had a blast!

Bocephus the Kentucky Bullfrog

Ronnie and I caught a Kentucky Bullfrog for Katie while we were in Mayfield for my grandfathers funeral. We got the name Bocephus after being around my adorable Aunt Evelyn for just a short time. Katie LOVES frogs!!! Bocephus lived with us for a short time and then Katie decided to let him back into the wild. Whew!!! Was I glad to see him go......for those of you not aware....I have a deathly absurd fear of frogs!!!
